Tenth Annual New Play Contest

The Chameleon Theatre Circle is reading all of your submissions to our Tenth Annual New Play Contest and are getting ready for our New Play Festival in late August when the winning plays will be showcased in a concert-format festival in August, 2009.  All shows submitted will automatically be placed on the slate of shows in consideration for the 2010-2011 season by the Season Planning Committee.

MUSICALS

If more than five musicals are submitted, the theatre reserves the right to create a "musical" category. Musicals are defined as any original play using original or rights permitted musical dialogue to further the story and/or the characters. In the absence of enough qualifying scripts, or if the theatre determines not to create an additional category, any musical will be entered into the appropriate category as defined above. With a Musical submission, please include at least one copy (preferable three) of music (sheet or CD).

THEATRE-FOR-YOUTH

If more than five plays intended for - and/or by - youth by are submitted, the theatre reserves the right to create a "Theatre-For-Youth" category. Theatre-For-Youth plays are defined as any original play intended for young audiences, young participants, or both. In the absence of enough qualifying scripts, or if the theatre determines not to create an additional category, any theatre for youth submission will be entered into the appropriate category as defined above.
